I said housley before, and if it doesn't work, Peg's would still like it because he's a fan of ex sabres.

The league adjusts to all rookies eventually. When the Leafs came out with three top ten picks and Kadri taking a big step this year, it was hard for teams to counteract them. I wouldn't doubt the Leafs taking a big step back next year. But in the mind of a Leaf fan every player that puts on their jersey is hockey gold. The entire city is not in touch with reality.

If Bylsma actually believed there was no disconnect, and wasn't just saying it for the policitcs of things, then that it fatal to his tenure as coach.

If he is so far out of touch with his team as to actually believe there was no problem, then he can't lead the franchise.

No it does not, Some people are just simply better than others.
MAtthews, Marner and Nylander are all top end talent.
TML will be better next year, IMO, which is very scary to think.
They will be in cup contention, sooner rather than later.

I doubt Buffalo has enough to get him.

Tampa has Drouin
Colorado has Ladeskog, Duchene, Mackinnon
Toronto has Marner, Nylander

Buffalo cant match that one of one without adding more pieces.

Sure it does. I didn't see Selanne scoring 76 goals every year of his career. How may Norris trophies does Myers have? Matthews will not have same success next year nor will the entire Leaf team. Teams will adjust to them.

Could his ego really be that big? I've said it a few times, but winning the Cup was probably the worst thing that happened to him in terms of being a "good" coach. He won, so his system must be perfect. If he just set aside his ego and said "huh, this doesn't seem to be working so well, maybe I should tweak it, so one of the most skilled players in the league today isn't shackled." And being a career 4th liner probably doesn't help that he can't relate at all to Eichel.

That being said, Eichel needs to grow up a little bit. Stop being so languid, sulky and woe is me in his pressers. I'm not saying don't show emotion, even negative emotions, but he just comes off as a petulant child at times. I understand not everyone has the intensity of Lehner, but maybe just dial back the exaggerated shrugs a bit. Hopefully that just comes with time.

Ted Nolan was criticized constantly(rightfully so) for not preparing for opponents, watching film, not working on in-game strategy during practice etc. and he was viewed as an out of touch, behind the times dinosaur of a coach (which he was)

Now, the problem is Bylsma does those things above too much, and needs to have coffee and talk to the players more.

This team/organization is such a clown show on so many levels it's unreal.

People actually want the BU coach here? Why, so it will be like every little league team where the best player's daddy is the head coach?

The kids on this team need to man up and play the game.

You mean the Over a PPG Teemu Selanee over a 15 year period? Yea, teams sure knew how to stop him.

Crosby, McDavid, how have teams not adjust to them, they should be coming down to the rest of the league, no?

Tyler Myers? HE had one good half of a year and was ruined by coaches who failed to coach him on his faults.

The Leafs have Superstar talent up front. They are only going to get better.

I suppose the same could be said for John Tavares whom all the Islanders are doing is trying to keep happy. Is his daddy the coach.

Crosby for teh Pens trying to keep him happy when he said changes were needed.

If McDavid said he hated his coach, his ass would be out on the street tomorrow.

This is not something particular to just Buffalo.

Edit - I agree this org is a clown show, but not for trying to keep Eichel happy.

They kept Capuano for years, and won a playoff series.

John Cooper and Steven Stamkos were at odds, and guess what? They won playoff games and he freaking re-signed there.

We make it to the playoffs, and can't get to the next level, then Eichel and co. have legitimate gripes. Not now, at all

Maybe O'Reilly and the mystery driver should start the search for the next coffee coach.
